UX research to explore new features for a messaging app

THE BRIEF

Due to increased competitive threat, an online messaging app wished to explore ways to heighten the appeal and user engagement to help retention of current users and increase acquisition of new users in Indonesia.

OUR APPROACH

A mixed methodology of cultural immersions both urban and rural (with the client team), UX technical observation and in-depth interviews.

OUTPUT

We provided specific direction and consumer usage insights to inform potential app feature changes and updates to remain relevant (especially for the younger target audience).
